SPRING COURT
Spring Court. Georges Grimmeisen created an exceptional tennis shoe with a canvas upper and a vulcanised sole unit in 1936. Later in 1952 he added the four characteristic ventilation holes in the sole side. A design classic which has remained unchanged to this day.
Original Spring Court tennis pair from the 1950’s with its box. Not that much different than what we see today. Note the 3 hole design (after the jump) as opposed to the current 4 hole. John Lennon was a big fan. He wore a pair of white Spring Court during Abbey Road album cover photo shooting. Final album cover Lennon also sport his favorite pair on his wedding day with Yoko Ono. A Spring Court pair also made it to the cover of the experimental album “Wedding Album”. Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin were also big fans.
