Formidable. What was your first creative drive?
Nano 4814. I guess like most of the people… it would be the spontaneous unconscious act of grabbing a pencil and draw when you are a little kid.

F.M. What gets you to do art these days?
N. Nothing special. I just never saw myself doing any other thing.

F. Inspirational artists?
N. The list would be endless. Most of all, artists with whom I know personally, the ones I live with, talk to and share experiences everyday. Also lots of musicians. Specially Arthur Russell.

F.M. How would you define your work?
N. That´s a tough one… It’s quite intimate and introspective. A little sinister, even, but disguised under a thick coat of bright colors… I don´t know, it may change from one piece to the next, but every single one is totally connected to who I am.

F.M. What’s in your playlist?
N. No iPod at the moment, but the record that was in my turntable when I left home this morning is a compilation of breaks called Return to the Valley of the Porno Beats. It changes everyday, though. I am a vinyl freak. It´s my only vice.

F.M. What film is your your life like?
N. I´m not sure… it could be something like Scorsese´s “After Hours” but more under control, brighter and with a happy ending!

F.M. How is a day in the life of Nano?
N. Everyday is different really. The only thing constant is waking up around 9:00 and going to the studio to see will happen that day.

F.M. Best and worst night out?
N. Best would be one that has a little bit of painting, a little bit of music. One that I get to hang out with my girl, Belen. All this probably in a warm and exotic place… easy. Worst night would be when you are super tired and you left your keys inside your apartment, no phone, no money, raining…

F.M. What do you love and hate about Madrid?
N. Love the people around me, they make this place special. Hate all the unnecessary regulations and law that make your life harder than it already is. Unfortunately Madrid is full of this.

F.M. Our motto is “A life less ordinary”, what makes life less ordinary?
N. To be lucky enough to make a living of what you like most.
